For members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, temples are the most sacred places in the world. Within temples, Church members make two-way promises with God to live honorable lives. In return, Heavenly Father promises blessings of protection and others of eternal significance. These promises are made during ceremonies under God’s power and authority, or the priesthood. Temple ceremonies include performing baptisms on behalf of the dead, the endowment, and sealings where families are united forever and can remain a family after death.
